What Does Christmas Mean to You?
« on: December 16, 2010, 05:05:03 PM »
In this busy world, sometimes we forget what Christmas is really about. So, we asked some Cagayan de Oro residents: “What does Christmas mean to you?” Here’s what they have to say.

“Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. It always brings me a wonderful feeling that words cannot express. It is the time of giving, forgiving and loving.”

–Jennifer, 27

Consolacion

“Christmas means the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ and a time of giving to everyone, especially to those less fortunate individuals in our community.

-Enola Gay, 23

Macabalan

“Christmas, for me, is a time of great joy. It is an occasion of God proving His enormous love for us.”

-Bernie, 22

Yacapin St.

“The way people celebrate Christmas today reminds me of how distracted we truly are from its real meaning. Christmas is not a season for giving, and being charitable or anything like that. Christmas is a time for appreciation of the fact that mankind has finally been given a gift of salvation. Fireworks and traditional gimmicks are more like tools for distraction now than what they are supposed to remind us of. Why is Christmas special? It’s because it reminds us that we finally have a right to call God, our Father. No longer are we condemned, because when Jesus was born, he was destined to take our place on the cross; to pay for the price for us.”

-Jeremy, 28

Tiano-Luna Sts.
